Writing in Sefton Opportunities
for writers and writing in Sefton are acknowledged throughout the region.
Several initiatives have been designed to encourage local people to
participate in writer’s workshops and other introductory activities, and also
to enable them to graduate towards public readings or the publication of
their own work. In
addition to presenting some of the world’s leading poets reading their own
work to audiences in Sefton (Les Murray, U.A. Fanthorpe, Carol AnnDuffy,
Andrew Motion, Roger McGough), Sefton Arts Development also organises a
programme of poetry and music events by local poets at venues such as Stamps
Bistro in Crosby and The Left Bank Brasserie in Formby and also supports
